Bird & Co Board & Executive Mentoring supports senior executives, executives aspiring to their first board position (either as executive or non-executive), newly-appointed Non-Executive Directors, those changing roles in the boardroom and high potential employees. We believe that the only way to understand board dynamics or senior executive life is to learn from people who are active in boardrooms, and have been there and done it. Therefore, our mentoring programmes are created and delivered by current senior directors of FTSE and major private organisations.

NED Development

Working with the Chair, provides mentoring for board directors, in particular dealing with any learning / developmental recommendations arising from Board Reviews. Helps new board members – and those taking on new responsibilities – to gain insights and explore issues / situation handling in confidence with experienced peers. Provides specific corporate finance learning for directors without a finance background.

Executive Journey

This one-to-one mentoring programme enables senior executives to handle new challenges, maintain peak performance and develop their careers within the company. Co-created with the individual to meet their specific requirements, it can cover managing challenges in times of change; presenting to the board; knowledge gaps and practical insights for the continuing executive journey from division to group to board.

The Glass Ladder Academy

Prepares senior executive women to find and take their first boardroom position. Over a 10-month period, the programme focuses on five key steps to becoming ‘board ready’ and utilises a combination of one-to-one mentoring, small group seminars led by existing female NEDs and interactive learning sessions. Board Ready

Equips your company’s high fliers to find and take their first non-executive director position, giving them a real sense of what is expected of them as non-executives, and how to deliver. Explores the process of board search and nomination committees, thereby enabling them to prepare for interviews and board panels.

Board Masterclasses

Give high potential employees and senior executives an understanding of boards, their dynamics and responsibilities, using a combination of teaching, workshop case studies and role play. The masterclasses provide valuable insight into the challenges of boards in today’s world and enable executives to better understand what they need to know when interacting with their own board.

Lingua Banca

A corporate finance programme for senior executives which gives them the key information they need to understand the world of the financial markets. This programme can either be delivered through one-to-one mentoring or as a masterclass.
